10/01/2005 · Re: compacting gravel under a slab I use 8'x12' 6" wire mesh below the tubing. The tubing is attached to the mesh with plastic clips. the clips are much faster than tie wraps. Over that I use #4 bar on 2' centers. 4" of 6 bag concrete with fibre. I always make sure all topsoil is excavated deal with whatever is under the topsoil accordingly.
