FLOTATION TECHNIQUES FOR THE RECOVERY OF SMALLSCALE ARCHAEOLOGICAL REMAINS STUART STRUEVER ABSTRACT This paper outlines the procedures and equipment necessary for applying a simple flotation technique to recover animal bone, seeds, and other small cultural remains lost in the normal screening of soils from archaeological sites.
For most of the mineral ores, due to the geological evolution, they are contained in or stick to rock veins. After mining the mineral ore is mined from underground, then the first procedure is to crush the big lump rock to small size for further processing. During this stage normally scrub washing will be applied for materials with much mud.
Having a smallscale dairy farm can be a tough as your sole business, since a small farmer can't really compete on price with largescale farms that produce milk for per liter. But it can be a great way to diversify the different products that you offer on your farm, or at least provide your family and friends with all of your own dairy products.
Smallscale hard rock miners do not have the luxury of a fully equipped industrialgrade mill with flotation and cyanide leaching to process their ore and recover values. We are usually limited by practicality, finances and permitting to a simple crushing and grinding circuit, with a gravity recovery system for the free milling values and valuecontaining sulfides.

· Developing software for smallscale embedded appliions is different from developing largescale software appliions. Largescale appliions use commercially available 'one fits all' software development solutions that are difficult to scale downward and usually miss the desired process goals. In many cases, developing a smallscale software appliion development process .
means that this can be done at a small scale of processing using equipment that is affordable. Smallscale fruit and vegetable processors have many competitors in Uganda as well as competing with imported products. To be profitable, it is therefore essential to have good quality products, attractive packaging and a wellmanaged business.
Small scale mining equipment is available from renown engineers and suppliers, Appropriate Process Technologies (APT). APT's small scale mining equipment is simple to use, efficient and effective. Options are available for the recovery of gold, tin, chrome, tantalite and more.

Ore assaying techniques are here considered as a part of the silver production chaîne opératoire, in a mining industry context. Our aims are to understand the technique itself but also its role in mine exploitation. The experiments deal with small scale assaying techniques in use from the end of the Middle Ages and well described in 16thcentury technical treatises.
Today there are individual mines producing in excess of 200,000 tonnes of tailings per day. Understanding the mineral processing techniques can help to determine how tailings are produced and the challenges associated with their storage. Run of the mine ore is physically reduced by crushing and grinding methods (figure 2).
a larger scale. In some West African countries (Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso), smallscale mining is differentiated from artisanal mining by the presence of permanent, fixed installations established once the existence of an ore body is confirmed. In this report, the terms .

viable, to process mineral resources very much depends on the type of ore which is mined as well as of the physical conditions linked to the loion of the mine site. Heap leaching is a tried and tested mining technique enabling the processing of different kinds of ores which could not otherwise be exploited under viable economic conditions.
· Executive summary • In scaleup, product and process development tend to move in small steps – Lab scale to bench scale, then to pilot scale, finally to production scale – This reduces the risk with the larger investments in the next step • Scaledown is mainly for troubleshooting or development of processes used in ongoing production. 3.
Each processing technique has its own unique advantages and disadvantages, as well as critical parameters that must be monitored carefully to achieve desired coatings. These parameters determine the quality of the resulting thin films. This guide compares several popular solutionprocessing techniques, and explores their strengths and weaknesses.
